Do you predict failures?
No. Your engineers know your machines' failure modes better than any model trained on someone else's. You define the thresholds, rules, and alerts; Semaphor makes them visible, governed, and branded for every customer. If you already run prediction models, Semaphor visualizes their output too.
Who owns the data?
You and your customers. Data stays in your database; Semaphor queries it and never warehouses a copy.
How does multi-tenancy work?
One deployment. Each customer is a tenant with row-level security, so they see only their own fleet. You control users, groups, and roles per tenant.
Can it handle our machine data volume?
Semaphor connects natively to ClickHouse, which is built for exactly this workload. Keep raw telemetry in ClickHouse, aggregate in your pipeline where it makes sense, and Semaphor queries the governed layer.
Can we charge our customers for the portal?
Yes, and most OEMs do: basic monitoring bundled with the machine or warranty, fleet analytics and reporting as a paid tier.
Does Semaphor replace our IoT platform?
No. Keep your broker, gateway, and pipeline. Semaphor replaces the customer-facing dashboards and reporting layer, which is where most IoT platforms stop short.
What about machines already in the field without sensors?
Semaphor works with whatever data you have: service records, runtime logs, warranty claims. Many OEMs start there and add telemetry per product line over time.
Can it run in our VPC?
